Dental Hygiene

If you want a stable, rewarding role in the dental field with more growth opportunity, a career as a dental hygienist will make you smile. The Dental Hygiene associate degree shared program with Milwaukee Area Technical College has a limited four-seat annual capacity and is only open to graduates of Gateway’s Dental Assistant program who have also completed three prerequisite courses listed in the “Admissions Information” accordion below.

  • Get hands-on experience employers want with clinical placements while you complete Dental Assistant program courses and face-to-face classes on Gateway’s campuses, so you can learn closer to home.
  • Get the right credentials. Accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association, MATC’s Dental Hygiene program curriculum blends academic and clinical courses to prepare you for the industry.
  • Manage your schedule. With online course options for electives and general education courses available through both colleges, you get even greater flexibility.
  • Don’t waste time. Students in Gateway’s district may complete prerequisites before petitioning in a rigorous and competitive selection for two seats in the Fall and Spring semesters, respectively.
