Pay scale: $12.43- $32.60 per hour
WWTPOs work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Proper safety gear is necessary because operators may be exposed to gases such as methane and hydrogen sulfide, hazard chemicals and materials, including those containing viruses and bacteria. They may also be exposed to noise from motors, pumps, engines, and generators.
Must be physically able to perform the trade and have a valid driver's license.
Length of training
3 years - 6000 hours, with 432 hours of paid related instruction and 5568 hours of on-the-job training.
