Want a career working with tools hands-on? Put your technical skills to good use by beginning a career as a tool and die maker. As a Tool and Die Apprentice, you’ll set up and operate machine tools, analyze specifications and assemble parts to make and repair a wide range of hand tools. You’ll assist in shaping metal in stamping and forging operations as well.

You must be physically able to perform the job, at least 18-years-old and a high school graduate or equivalent.
Get started as a Tool and Die Apprentice
You should apply directly to employers, and entry requirements vary by employer.
If you need assistance finding an employer who will take you on as an apprentice, please contact the local Apprenticeship Training Representative at 262-564-3210 to find an employer who has been approved to train apprentices.
Once your contract is in place Gateway’s Apprenticeship department will communicate with you regarding registration, classes and books.
