Each Multicultural Resource Center (MRC) serves as a home on the Elkhorn, Kenosha and Racine campuses for students, staff and faculty to receive resources and training on cultural issues impacting the Gateway community. The MRCs also strive to create a climate that is welcoming to all and promote advocacy, leadership and access while celebrating all cultures among our students, staff, faculty and the general public.
Elkhorn
In addition to a range of multicultural events welcoming to everyone, Elkhorn’s MRC also hosts the Adult Basic Education Learning Community.
Kenosha
Any given month, you can find food tastings or other cross-cultural events that celebrate Red Hawks’ diversity at the Kenosha MRC, but you’ll also find HEADS UP Mentoring events and ELL Conversation groups.
Racine
On the Racine Campus, the MRC often hosts Spoken Word events and English Language Learner conversation groups, as well as a range of other events open to our whole community that celebrate diversity, equity and inclusivity.
Multicultural Student Organizations
Get connected with the Alliance for Multicultural Students (AMS), Rainbow Alliance, Black Student Union and Society of Cultural Excellence Explore (SOCE). If you or another member of the Gateway Technical College community is a victim of bias or discrimination, please report these to the Office for Equal Opportunity and Civil Rights.
