Multicultural Program

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, all Gateway campus facilities are closed to the public, with the exception of students who are on campus for limited classes and labs. Visit our website for the latest updates regarding college services.

You’re going to achieve your goals, and Gateway’s Multicultural program is here to provide assistance and support along the way. The Multicultural program encourages the success of students of color by offering comprehensive services which promote academic achievement, career building, cross-cultural engagement and leadership development. 

We hope you consider joining the Multicultural Program. The program is full of benefits, including attending international conferences, one-on-one coaching and skill building in leadership and cultural awareness. Academic Support and Resources

The Multicultural program facilitates support through many programs, including one-on-one personalized assistance, tutoring, student success workshops, transition services, midterm support and providing services for students in Gateway's ABE/ELL programs.

HEADS UP Mentoring Initiative

Gateway’s HEADS UP Mentoring initiative works hand-in-hand with the Multicultural program to pair you with a Gateway employee who is an experienced professional in their field and will provide coaching and success tips throughout your time at Gateway.

Conferences

The Multicultural program hosts and assists in planning several conferences each year, such as the College Success Seminar  and the Student Leadership Conference. Students in the Multicultural program also have the opportunity to attend state-wide and national conferences.

Student Success Workshops

Exercise your mind and conquer your classes through Gateway’s hands-on Student Success Workshops, offered with assistance from the Multicultural program. Whether you want to learn better time management or strategize your studying, these workshops are here to help.

The Alliance for Multicultural Students is a student club that provides development and leadership opportunities through college and community engagement activities. Gateway’s Society of Cultural Excellence student club focuses on providing a fun and supportive space to encourage academic and cultural excellence.

Social-Cultural Events and Engagement

The Multicultural program collaborates with Gateway’s Student Life office to host events that help create a climate of inclusion and cultural consciousness.
