Gateway is excited to welcome students to Fall Semester! We’re here to help you succeed and meet your educational goals. Our Student Services, Learning Success, Disability Support, Financial Aid, counseling, Multicultural Resource Center and Library staff are available to assist you both virtually and on-campus with additional health and safety precautions.

Student Services

Student Services experts, including Academic Advising, Admissions, New Student Specialists, Student Finance, Registrar and Career Services, are available to assist students on campus as well as via Zoom virtual meetings, email, chat, and phone.

Learning Success Centers

Tutoring Services

Gateway Tutoring Services will be available on campus as well as online for fall semester. 

On-campus Tutoring Schedule:

  • Elkhorn Campus | Monday, Wednesday and Thursday: 10:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. 
  • Kenosha Campus | Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday:  10:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. 
  • Racine Campus | Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday: 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. 

Virtual Tutoring Schedule: 

Live online tutoring is also available now through Brainfuse located in Blackboard. Help with math and writing are available 24/7. See the Brainfuse Instruction Sheet.

Library Services and Resources

Gateway’s campus libraries are open to students and staff during fall semester. Students will be able to check out and return materials, use a printer or computer, get research help, and use the study space. Visit the library website for checkout steps and instructions for returning materials.

To maintain social distance, seating is limited. Meetings, group work, and study groups are not permitted in the libraries at this time.

Library Hours: 

  • Monday-Thursday: 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. 
  • Friday: 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. 
  • Saturday and Sunday: Closed

Library staff will be also available to provide reference help for students through email, phone, or Zoom.

The libraries also provide 24/7 access to dozens of databases, thousands of videos, and hundreds of ebooks available via the library webpage. Please refer to the Subject Guides to see what recommended resources there are in your area. 

Testing Services

The Testing Services team is available to assist students with understanding testing options, test preparation resources and test registration. Testing Services will have on-campus testing available by appointment only. Students should email testingservices@gtc.edu for information and assistance.

Career and Employment Services

Undecided or unsure on your program of study? Gateway’s Career and Employment Services team is available to meet virtually with students. Call 1-800-247-7122 to schedule an appointment. Students can also complete the online Focus 2 career assessment to learn more about themselves in order to identify careers that are a good fit. In addition, Career and Employment Services is available to assist students with job search readiness, resume review and interview prep.
