Kelly Martin will need to see the following documents prior to allowing enrollment in the flight courses (402-140C and 402-140D):
- Valid 3rd class medical/student pilot certificate.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship (certified copy of birth certificate or valid U.S. Passport) If you are not a U.S. Citizen, contact Mr. Larson for instructions on how to get TSA approval for flight training.
Here is a link to FAA medical information:
When you call to schedule the appointment with an AME (Aviation Medical Examiner), let them know you need an aviation 3rd class medical and student pilot certificate. Also, when you complete the application, check both of those boxes. If you want, you can get a 2nd or 1st class medical, but all that is needed for flight training is a 3rd class medical. When flying for hire (in the future) you will need a 1st class medical if you are an airline pilot, and a 2nd class medical for just about anything else.
