Advanced Manufacturing Specialist

Join the in-demand field of Advanced Manufacturing in just 12 weeks! The Academy of Advanced Manufacturing at Gateway is an initiative developed by Rockwell Automation and Manpower Group providing hands-on training in the latest in manufacturing systems using Rockwell Automation products.

Invest in 12 weeks of full-time classes to gain a strong introduction to electronics, robotics, PLCs, industrial automation, project management and more. You’ll graduate with Gateway’s Advanced Manufacturing Specialist Certificate and be certified as an Automation and Control Technician with an average salary of $49,000/year.

Train hands-on at Gateway’s SC Johnson iMET Center over 12 weeks (36/hrs per week) in robotics, mechatronics, motor control, PLC and HMI programming, industrial controls and the industrial internet of things.

Application Requirements

  • Complete an online application for the Advanced Manufacturing Specialist Certificate
  • Submit an official high school transcript, HSED, or GED transcript to verify high school completion. Transcript must be official and in a sealed envelope from the high school unless sent electronically through a secured credential service (e.g. Parchment)
  • Complete the SmarterMeasure assessment and send your results to the Office of Admissions at admissionsgroup@gtc.edu
  • Complete the Academy of Advanced Manufacturing Orientation
