Gateway Technical College has a sterling local, regional, national and even international reputation as a progressive institution that provides a solid education to our more than 20,000 students and meets the needs of area employers and the communities we serve.

Innovative. You can see and sense Gateway’s commitment to being innovative and providing the most cutting-edge equipment and instruction students need to succeed in their career field. That includes innovative thinking in building design, partnerships with industry and its 70+ career training programs.

Solid financial footing. The college manages an annual operating budget of about $155 million and employs more than 900 full-time and part-time faculty and staff.  Gateway is a Moody’s Aaa college with solid budget planning, providing the college with a way to expand its facilities and provide training on equipment used in today’s workplace.

Graduate-approved. About 94 percent of Gateway’s graduates say they are pleased with the training they received at the college, and nearly nine in 10 are employed. Many return to serve on advisory committees or work with instructors and students to help continue the college’s strong legacy of quality education.

Historic. Gateway Technical College became the first publicly funded technical college in America in 1911. The college remains a leader among the 16 colleges in the Wisconsin Technical College system.

Collaborative with business and community. Gateway has forged strong partnerships with local industry leaders who provide resources and industry expertise to ensure student success. This comes in many forms, including many scholarships created through Gateway Technical College Foundation, donated equipment and opportunities to work in the industry prior to graduation. The college is committed to serving its community and has become a resource for community events and needs.
