Open Education Resources (OER)

According to the Wisconsin Technical College System, “Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching materials, such as textbooks, for which copyright restrictions are minimized with an open-copyright license.” The benefit to you as a student is that these online materials are free to use. You do not need access codes and can keep these for an unlimited amount of time, unlike the online textbooks you have rented in the past.

Since the adoption of OER at Gateway, collectively students have seen a significant cost savings of around $800,000! Scroll the list of courses below to see if you can also save money with OER. Please bookmark this page and check back as more resources will be added.

Visit the WTCS System OER website to learn more.
