Financial information
- The Promise 2 Finish program fills the gap between federal and state grants and the cost of tuition at Gateway, so eligible students can attend Gateway tuition free! The Promise scholarship program is made possible through the generous support of the Gateway Foundation and its donors.
- Support is calculated after federal and state grants are applied, but before loans, federal work study and non-tuition scholarships.
- Students will be provided a maximum of $10,500 in tuition, depending on their financial need (the maximum amount of time in the program is eight semesters).
- Students are still responsible for the cost of books, supplies and any extra course fees.
Student responsibilities
In order to stay in the Promise 2 Finish program, students must:
- Begin coursework at Gateway the semester immediately following acceptance and enroll in a minimum of six credits for their first semester.
- Participate in the Kickoff Meeting and Gateway to Success course.
- Develop an academic plan.
- Enroll in a minimum of 15 credits per academic year over the course of at least two semesters.
- Maintain a 2.0 program GPA and financial aid satisfactory progress each semester.
- Be actively enrolled in one academic program.
- Reapply for financial aid each year.
