The Accuplacer test is often used as an entrance/admissions exam for apprenticeships in various trades, including plumbing, steam-fitting, and carpentry, as well as others. Accuplacer is an adaptive test and is used to determine students' knowledge in the subjects of reading, writing (sentence skills), math, and elementary algebra. The Accuplacer test is untimed, however students can expect to take up to 3 hours to complete the test. Accuplacer testing is currently offered on the Kenosha and Racine campuses.
To better prepare for your test session, contact your local apprenticeship or institution to verify which test subjects you are required to take. For more information about Accuplacer and free sample questions please visit http://accuplacer.collegeboard.org/students. If you need further assistance preparing for your test, free study materials and instructor support are offered at Gateway's Student Success Centers. Contact your campus's location for current hours.
