English is one of the more common languages for international business. Gateway’s goal is to support its students in succeeding. Not only are students required to demonstrate English proficiency, many students for whom English and its dialects are their not first languages want to improve their fluency in English. Regardless of what level of proficiency a student aims to develop, Gateway’s Intensive English programs offers a credit-based certificate to meet their needs.
Beginning
Designed for students with very little exposure to English, his 20-credit certificate consists of five courses that focus on developing Beginning level of readiness in English reading, writing,speaking/pronunciation, listening/note taking and U.S. college culture.
Intermediate
Geared to meet the needs of students who already have some familiarity with English, this certificate program supports students in preparing an Intermediate skill in reading, writing, speaking/pronunciation, listening/note-taking and U.S. college culture over the course of five courses worth a total of 20 credits.
Advanced
For students who already show an intermediate fluency with English, the Advanced Intensive English certificate offers deeper engagement over the course of 20 credits with reading, writing, speaking/pronunciation, listening/note-taking and U.S. college culture.
