Petitioning Dates and Eligibility

All petitioning correspondence will be sent to your Gateway student email.

What Do I Need to be Eligible to Petition?

  • Program petition requirements are outlined below. To review your progress in meeting these requirements, login to My Gateway | Program Petition. Click Student Program Petition and select the program in which you want to submit a petition, then click Submit.
  • Once you have met all program petition requirements (you have all green √s), you are able to submit your petition by checking the acknowledgement box at the bottom of the screen and clicking Submit.
  • Students will be awarded a seat in clinical/practicum courses based on completion of program petition eligibility requirements, program acceptance date and residency status. Students with earlier program acceptance dates and Gateway district residence (Racine, Kenosha and Walworth Counties) have priority over students with later program acceptance dates or who are outside of the Gateway district and/or residents outside of Wisconsin.
    • Residency status will not be taken into consideration for the Dental Hygiene and Funeral Service programs' selection.
  • The Admissions Office will let students that have been awarded a seat know if they need to update their CPR, Background Information Disclosure forms and/or background checks; all items are valid for two years.
