Health and Emergency Response Occupations (HERO) Center

Gateway Technical College's HERO Center is a fire medic, emergency medical services, and fire industry leadership training facility that features real-life, scenario-based training, disaster simulation and technology-equipped classroom instruction.

The center provides training for new and incumbent workers and students. It is home to the Pierce Manufacturing Command Center which offers training through a virtual fire department and crisis communications center.

The center is home to the “On Eagle’s Wings” monument, inspired by the heroic acts of the first responders to the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. The monument incorporates an I-beam salvaged from the World Trade Center wreckage.

The HERO Center is just down the street from the Burlington Center, which is home to several academic programs, including Nursing.
