In an effort to keep our campuses safe, all Gateway buildings are closed to outside guests. Only returning and prospective students and college faculty and staff are allowed on campus at this time.
In an effort to minimize the spread of the virus and maintain safe and clean campus facilities, no on-campus college events will be held during fall semester. This includes large college events, community events held on Gateway’s campuses and community room rentals
Gateway will continue to provide many virtual events and activities throughout the fall. Check the college’s website calendar or call 1-800-247-7122 for information on upcoming virtual events.
April 20, 2020 (updated May 22, 2020)
Gateway’s campuses remain closed to the public with the exception of students who are on-campus for specific classes or labs. In an effort to minimize the spread of the virus and maintain safe and clean campus facilities, no on-campus college events and activities will be held May 26 through August 23. This includes large college events, community events held on Gateway’s campuses, campus tours and student life events and activities. In addition, all room rentals and community use of Gateway spaces will be cancelled.
Students and staff will not be allowed to gather in groups on campus. Social gathering spaces, conference rooms as well as food service on campus will not be accessible/available.
Gateway will continue to provide services virtually including Get Ready Workshops, virtual tours, Student Finance Workshops and more. Check the college’s website calendar or call 1-800-247-7122 for information on upcoming virtual events.
March 25, 2020
Based on the direction of Governor Tony Evers and the Department of Health Services Safer at Home order, all Gateway Technical College facilities will remain closed until April 23, 2020. No on-campus meetings or events will be held during this closure.
Additionally, based on directives from public health authorities indefinitely restricting gatherings of more than 10 people, Gateway’s technical diploma, associate degree and Adult High School/Adult Basic Education/GED commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2020 will be moved to a virtual format.
Graduates will be able to share these virtual commencement ceremonies with their friends and family. The college is also planning a celebratory reception for the Class of 2020 that will be hosted when it is once again safe to gather in large groups.
All graduates should continue to check their Gateway student email for important updates regarding specific ceremony information.

March 17, 2020
Based on direction of the Wisconsin Department of Health beginning March 17, 2020 and continuing until further notice, all on-campus events and gatherings of groups of 50 or more are prohibited.
As a result, Gateway Technical College has cancelled the Sumo Bot competition.
In addition, all Gateway Technical College facilities are closed March 18, 2020 through April 5, 2020. No on-campus meetings or events will be held during this closure.
March 13, 2020
Beginning Monday, March 16 through Monday, April 13, all college events and activities have been cancelled. This includes large college events like EcoFest Racine (March 21), community events held on Gateway’s campuses, campus tours and student life events and activities. In addition, all room rentals and community use of Gateway spaces will be cancelled.
At this time, events scheduled after April 13 will be held as planned, including Celebrate Earth Day (April 18) and Commencement (May 19).
College leadership will continue to evaluate upcoming events as needed to protect the health and safety of our students, staff and community.
