Spring Semester (Updated 11/24/20)

This Spring Semester, we look forward to welcoming students both on-campus and online. To allow ample time for deep cleaning of our buildings between semesters and to allow extra time to prepare for Spring Semester after the winter break for those who may need it, we are postponing the start of Spring Semester to Tuesday, January 19, 2021. After the winter break (Dec. 24-Jan. 3), campus facilities will reopen beginning January 4 for virtual and in-person services.

Gateway campuses and centers will be open this spring with continued safety measures to ensure the health of students, faculty and staff. We are working hard to make certain our on-campus environment follows the latest health and safety guidelines so students and staff can feel confident returning to campus.

  • In-person, online and blended course options are available
  • Adjustments have been made to limit in-person class sizes, ensure social distancing and provide time for sanitation in classrooms and labs
  • Chromebooks are available to students who need them to complete coursework
  • Gateway’s Learning Success Centers, Student Services Centerslibrary and student support teams are available both on campus and online.
  • Gateway’s Follett bookstore is only taking orders online for Spring Semester textbooks. No-cost shipping is available through January 19, 2021. If you need assistance with ordering your books online, visit gtc.edu/bookstore

For your health and safety on campus:

  • Campuses are open only to current students, prospective students, and college faculty and staff
  • Anyone on campus must wear a face mask, including while in class, hallways, common areas and meeting spaces.  Please review Gateway’s Mask Policy for requirements, details on disability accommodations, and answers to frequently asked questions.
  • When on campus, please wear your Gateway Student ID if you have one
  • Social distancing will be maintained while on campus, and students are asked to follow signage on campus to help maintain social distancing
  • Open entrances on each campus are limited. Find open entrances on our website.

The college will continue to monitor and follow CDC guidelines and recommendations to ensure the health and safety of our campus community. We remain flexible and are prepared to respond over the course of the semester if needed as the pandemic situation continues to evolve.
