Business Decision Management

This capstone course within the Business Management Program will take the student through the decision process of a business enterprise. This class will pull together the breadth of the learner's business and general educational exposure, experience and education leading into this course and put practical use and application to this knowledge.

Diversity Studies, Introduction to

Race, Ethnic, and Diversity Studies is a course that draws from several disciplines to reaffirm the basic American values of justice and equality by teaching a basic vocabulary, a basic history of immigration and conquest, principles of transcultural communication, legal liability, and the value of aesthetic production to increase the probability of respectful encounters among people.

Supervision

In Supervision, the learner applies the skills and tools necessary to perform the functions of a frontline leader. Each learner will demonstrate the application of strategies and transition to a contemporary supervisory role, including day-to- day operations, analysis, delegation, controlling, staffing, leadership, problem-solving, team skills, motivation, and training.

Credit Management

The learner will examine the world of personal and business credit and explore the implementation and consequences of various credit management policies. The learner will also examine applicable regulations as it pertains to consumer and business credit, as well as relationships with regulatory agencies, stakeholders and the management of the business as it relates to fiduciary responsibilities of the modern manager.

Promotion Principles I

Students are introduced to the theory and practice of integrated marketing communications. This course is designed to provide an understanding of the promotional elements; advertising, direct marketing, public relations, sales promotion, and digital marketing with emphasis placed on implementation of integrated marketing communications (IMC) in planning marketing and promotional programs.

Computers for Professionals

This course introduces students to the use of a PC through hands-on practice. Students explore the fundamentals of using digital technologies to connect, learn, and engage. Students will use the version of Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) in use at Gateway Technical College. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to use MS Office applications.
