Gateway to host InnovateHER competition

Gateway Technical College and the Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation will host a competition for any entrepreneurs who create innovative products or services that impact the lives of women and families.

The competition is for those products which specifically have a measurable impact on the lives of women and families, has the potential for commercialization and fills a need in the marketplace.

Contestants must do the following:

  • Produce a business plan due Nov. 2 and submitted to Heather Lux at WWBIC, heather.lux@wwbic.com
  • Those selected to participate in the final round will be novated by Nov. 6 and then must produce a video due no later than 5 p.m. Nov. 13 and submitted to Kristin Niemiec at Gateway, niemieck@gtc.edu

A panel of judges will review the videos and select award winners Nov. 17. They will announce those winners the same day at a reception, to be held 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Gateway’s SC Johnson integrated Manufacturing and Engineering Technology Center, 2320 Renaissance Blvd., Sturtevant.

The video should be in MP4 format, 3 to 5 minutes long and illustrates how the entrepreneur’s business impacts the lives of women and families. Videos will be judged on the content not quality – camera phones are acceptable.
