As we enter Summer Semester, the college’s goal is to minimize future spread of the COVID-19 virus and to consolidate and minimize the use of space to facilitate keeping the campuses clean. Gateway will continue to operate in a primarily virtual environment throughout the Summer Semester.

Only courses that require hands-on lab experience will be on campus. All other courses, including lecture portions of courses that have essential hands-on labs, will be delivered online. For information regarding Summer Semester course delivery, please visit our Academics and Classes webpage

All Gateway services and support will be available virtually through August including student support services, registration, advising, student finance, and IT support. For details regarding student support services, visit our Services for Students page.

Gateway’s campuses remain closed to the public with the exception of students who are on-campus for specific classes or labs.

For your health and safety on campus:

  • Social distancing will be maintained on campus. Masks must be worn while on campus, and hand sanitizer will be made available.

  • If on campus, students and staff are asked to wear their Gateway student or staff ID.

  • To help maintain the cleanliness of our facilities, each campus building will only have one unlocked entrance. A list of open entrances can be found on our Campuses webpage.

  • Fridays and Saturdays through August 2020 will be “virtual days.” During virtual Fridays and Saturdays, there will be no access to campus facilities and all services and courses will be conducted virtually.

The impact the coronavirus (COVID-19) has had on the world we live in continues to grow and change daily. That includes Gateway Technical College, as we work to protect the health of students, staff and community visitors.

In light of that, we remain open but all classes will be cancelled March 16 through March 18 in order for us to finalize plans to help students meet their educational goals and finish their coursework. From March 19 forward, courses will be provided to students in a number of ways including online or blended until the end of the Spring semester. Staff will continue their regular working schedules.

In addition, all college and community events and activities March 16 through April 13 have been canceled, and all college-related domestic and international travel canceled until April 30.

Our thoughts go out to those who’ve been affected by this outbreak. Again, please know that health and safety of students, staff and community remain our top priority during this time.
