Foundations of Lodging and Hospitality Management

Foundations of Lodging and Hospitality Management is a one-year program that prepares students to enter the customer-focused hospitality field at a support level. The program focuses on customer service, operations, problem solving, and cost control skills related to the hospitality industry. Students will explore the tourism, lodging, and food service industries within their coursework and internships. Graduates are qualified for jobs such as events coordinator, dining room manager, guest services coordinator, or reservations manager.

Culinary Assistant

Gateway’s Culinary Assistant technical diploma is a two-semester program that gives students the hands-on skills and technical knowledge they need to start a career in the culinary industry. Students will learn knife skills, baking, butchery, and short order deli skills. In addition to learning kitchen skills and menu planning, students will have the opportunity to train in commercial, industry-standard kitchens and serve the public through a restaurant located on the Racine Campus.

Culinary Arts

Gateway’s Culinary Arts associate degree program places emphasis on food purchasing, specialty food preparation, dining room operation and quantity food preparation and sanitation. Students will also learn hands-on all business aspects of restaurant operations as well as preparation of different foods.

Hospitality Management

The Hospitality Management associate degree allows you to choose a path that fits your interests through the Hospitality Management degree, which focuses the skills needed for hotel and resort management, or in one of two concentration areas: Hospitality Management with a concentration in Food and Beverage, or Hospitality Management with a concentration in Tourism and Attractions.
