Gateway Technical College officials today announced that Christopher Reber has withdrawn from consideration as the college's next president.

Reber was one of four presidential finalists who was to visit the college next week as part of the selection process. He told Gateway officials Thursday evening he accepted a position as a president at a university and asked to withdraw from consideration at Gateway.

Three finalists remain, though, who will visit the college Monday and Tuesday, including participating in a number of forums. All activities and forums for the remaining candidates remain as scheduled.

Those finalists are:

  • Caron Daugherty, president, Flint Hills Technical College
  • Phillip King, executive vice president and provost, Milwaukee Area Technical College
  • Veronique Tran, vice provost of the School of Manufacturing and Industrial Technology, Dallas College
