A new partnership gives graduates of most Gateway Technical College programs the ability to transfer those credits to Carthage College, saving them time and money toward earning a bachelor’s degree.

This agreement offers eligible Gateway Technical College associate degree and diploma graduates guaranteed admission to Carthage to complete their bachelor’s degree. A maximum of 68 credits can be applied toward a Carthage degree, and many graduates can enter the four-year college with junior status.

Leaders from the two institutions made the partnership official Monday during a signing ceremony at Gateway’s Kenosha campus.

“This new agreement exemplifies the commitment Gateway Technical College and Carthage College have made to provide higher education pathways that benefit students and employers throughout Southeastern Wisconsin,” said Gateway Technical College President and CEO Bryan Albrecht.

“Aligning our admission requirements benefits adult students and accelerates their access to both of our colleges.”

Eligible Gateway graduates can transfer into more than 40 Carthage undergraduate degree programs in the traditional semester format, as well as four programs that can be completed in an evening accelerated format.

“We’re excited to be part of something that provides students with additional opportunities to continue their education and achieve their long-term educational goals,” said William J. Miller, associate provost for continuing studies at Carthage.
