Lakeview Technology students again capture top honor at Gateway’s Sumobot competition

The Lakeview Technology Academy team of LakeView Legends captured first overall place at Gateway Technical College’s annual SumoBot competition held May 2 at the college’s Horizon Center for Transportation Technology in Kenosha.

This is the second straight year a Lakeview Technology Academy team has won the competition.

LakeView Legends team members also took first place in the Documentation and Presentation category and second in the Slalom category

Students and their robots competed in four events: Presentation and Documentation, Timed Task, Speed and Slalom and SumoBot wrestling.

First: Westosha Central High School, Long Arm Larry

Second: Westosha Central High School, Bomb Squad

Third (tied): Paris School, Trial & Error

Third (tied): Westosha Central High School, Iron Giants

 
Timed Task

First: Reek Elementary School, Ro Bros

Second: Fort Atkinson Middle School, Dominating Doves

Third: Westosha Central High School, Long Arm Larry

 
Slalom Run

First: Elkhorn Area High School, Malleus

Third: Westosha Central High School, Iron Giants

 
Presentation and Documentation

Second: Elkhorn Area Middle School, Las Chicas

Third: Fort Atkinson Middle School, Team Overdrive: Reboot
