Gateway's urban farm stand kicks off season

News Release:

First year stand to be open to public for entire summer

Gateway Technical College’s Horticulture program began its season of selling organic produce, trees and free-range eggs at its Pike Creek Farm Stand 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays at the Pike Creek Center on its Kenosha Campus, 3520-30th Ave.

This marks the first year the urban farm stand has been open to the public for an entire growing season.

The stand will sell organic fresh greens, spinach, radishes, fresh herbs, annual and perennial plants, vegetable plants, small fruits and fruit trees and free-range eggs.

In addition to selling fresh produce, the stand will also offer an education feature every week with demonstrations, recipes and information about all aspects of gardening and landscaping.

Gateway’s urban farm also sells produce at Kenosha’s Harbor Market, offering the same items as the farm on the Kenosha Campus.
