Gateway ranked a top level Military Friendly School

Military Friendly Gold Seal 2023-2024

Gateway Technical College has again been designated as a Military Friendly School by Viqtory Media, the premier publisher of magazines for military personnel transitioning to civilian life.

Gateway received a gold designation, a top category.

“Gateway Technical College is honored to receive the designation as a Military Friendly school,” said Breezann Warnock, director of Student Accounts. “Supporting veterans and our military-connected students is a top priority, and our faculty and staff are committed to providing outstanding services, opportunities and support to these students.”

Institutions earning the Military Friendly School designation were evaluated using public data, sources and responses from a proprietary survey. More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2023-2024 survey.

“The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Office is extremely proud to support and contribute to the successful academic journey of our student veterans at Gateway Technical College,” said Tammi Summers, vice president, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

“I, along with the Veteran Support Services team, are very proud of Gateway's Military Friendly designation, as we strive to maintain the top-notch services that have been consistently available for all students. Creating an environment that is inclusive and promoting diversity among our student veterans, their dependents and their spouses is what makes Gateway Technical College such a special place to complete an educational program.”

Methodology, criteria and weightings were determined by Viqtory with input from the Military Friendly Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey scores with the assessment of the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates for all students and specifically for student veterans.
