Gateway Technical College has narrowed down its presidential applicant pool to four candidates, who will be on campus later this month to engage in a number of forums before a final selection is made.
Those finalists are:
- Caron Daugherty, president, Flint Hills Technical College
- Phillip King, executive vice president and provost, Milwaukee Area Technical College
- Christopher Reber, president, Hudson County Community College
- Veronique Tran, vice provost of the School of Manufacturing and Industrial Technology, Dallas College
Each finalist will visit the college April 20 and April 21 for a number of forums with different groups representing the college community internally and externally. These on-campus visits will include open forums held in-person and virtually with students, staff, faculty and the community.
“We are proud of the disciplined and thorough process that has brought us to a strong group of four finalists, each capable of leading Gateway into its next chapter,” said Gateway Board of Trustee member Preston Gardner, who also served as the chairman of the Presidential Search Ad Hoc Committee.
“The level of talent and alignment with our mission gives us great confidence in the future of the college. We are energized by what lies ahead and the impact our next president will have on students, staff, faculty and the broader community.”
The committee was made up of key stakeholders from inside and outside of the college.
The college is encouraging members of the public to connect with candidates in-person at forums to be held at HARIBO Hall in the Madrigrano Conference Center on the Kenosha Campus, 3520-30th Ave. For those unable to attend in person, the forums will also be livestreamed on YouTube.
The public is also encouraged to submit questions for the candidate forums. Questions need to be submitted ahead of time for consideration and will be asked by the moderator. The deadline to submit questions is April 15.
