Gateway to hold event to break ground for SC Johnson iMET Center expansion

Training to support needs of area business, including Foxconn

Gateway Technical College will hold an official groundbreaking for the expansion of its SC Johnson integrated Manufacturing and Engineering Technology Center to support the educational training needs of Wisconn Valley employers, including Foxconn.

Who: Scheduled to speak at the event are Alan Yeung, Foxconn; Bryan Albrecht, Gateway Technical College; Governor Scott Walker has been invited to speak.

What: Ceremony and actual groundbreaking. The program will be held inside the SC Johnson iMET Center.

When: 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 22. Program will start at 2 p.m.

Where: Gateway’s SC Johnson iMET Center, 2320 Renaissance Blvd., Sturtevant

Details: The 35,000-square-foot expansion will support the growth and needs of Wisconn Valley employers through advanced training in Industry 4.0 careers.
