A total of 36 recruits graduated from the Gateway’s Law Enforcement Academy at a recent ceremony on the Kenosha Campus.
Capt. Eric Klinkhammer from the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office was the keynote speaker for the ceremony held in HARIBO Hall of the Madrigrano Conference Center on the Kenosha Campus. The recruit speech was given by Shawn Souders, a deputy with the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office.
Klinkhammer’s speech was a full-circle moment for him. He was a student of the college’s first Law Enforcement Academy in 1993 and, as the academy class president, gave their graduation speech.
Every graduate is already working for a local law enforcement agency. Graduates were from the following agencies: Kenosha County Sheriff's Office, Racine County Sheriff’s Office, Kenosha Police Department, Racine Police Department, Walworth Police Department, Village of Mount Pleasant Police Department, Village of Caledonia Police Department, Twin Lakes Police Department, City of Elkhorn Police Department, Burlington Police Department, Town of Geneva Police Department and the Village of Bloomfield Police Department.
