Gateway Technical College is led by a board of trustees, administration, staff and faculty who are committed to excellence and meeting community needs. Since the college became the first publicly funded continuation school in the United States in 1911, its leaders have guided Gateway to becoming a model for its real-world skills training, industry-driven curriculum and strong business partnerships.

Ritu Raju, PhD
President and CEO, Gateway Technical College

Ritu Raju serves as Gateway Technical College’s president, a role she began in January 2023. As the college’s chief executive, she oversees the college’s more than 70 academic programs, nine campus and center locations, a comprehensive $160 million budget and a progressive $12 million college foundation, for an economic impact of more than $550 million to the region. Formerly, she served as vice president for Academic Affairs at Tarrant County College’s Northeast Campus. Raju received her doctorate in Technical Communication and Rhetoric from Texas Tech University, a master’s in English from Sam Houston State University and a bachelor’s degree from University of Houston Downtown.
