What about Business and Workforce Solutions apprenticeship, Fast Forward grant and contract for service training? 

Effective April 27 and continuing through at least August 21, apprenticeship, Fast Forward funded coursework, and any other on-campus contract training will follow the guidelines below:

  • All courses that do not require a hands-on lab experience will be delivered online via Zoom, Blackboard, or another distance learning platform.
  • Courses that require hands-on lab experience will offer the lecture portions of the class online via a Zoom, Blackboard, or another distance learning platform. Only the lab portions of the class will be delivered on campus. The on-campus time will be scheduled by the instructor, be held in groups of 10 or fewer, and will be restricted to Monday through Thursday.
  • Fridays and Saturdays during this time frame will be “virtual days.” During virtual Fridays and Saturdays, there will be no access to campus facilities, and all services, courses, and functions will be conducted virtually.
  • Social distancing will be maintained while on campus. Masks should be worn while on campus and hand sanitizer will be made available. 

Off-campus face-to-face customized contract training is available and will be done in accordance with the business customer's building access policy and procedures. 

Business and Workforce Solutions is also offering a number of training areas online and through distance learning including Leadership, Supervision, MS Office and others. Please email training@gtc.edu for course information.

What if I don’t have a computer at home? 

If you don’t have the technology you need to complete your coursework, such as a computer, please contact your instructor to discuss your options. The college is working to provide Chromebooks to students as needed.

What if I don’t have internet at home?

If you don’t have internet access at home, some internet providers may offer discounted or free service during this time. Please see the Student Technology Resources page.

If you aren’t able to complete your coursework due to lack of internet service, please contact your instructor to discuss your options.

What about Every Child’s Place Daycare on the Kenosha Campus?

Please contact Every Child’s Place for an update on hours and service availability.

Will I have to pay a fee to reschedule my testing? 

Testing candidates who were already scheduled when Gateway closed should be entitled to a cancellation or reschedule without fee from their test provider (Pearson Vue, Kryterion, etc) because their appointment was cancelled by our facility and through no fault of their own. 

Gateway has issued a site closure notice with our providers, and your provider will contact you to let you know about the cancellation and reschedule. Unfortunately, with site closures all over the country and providers like Pearson Vue themselves closing their own sites, it may take some time for them to contact you.

How are REAL School, Lakeview High School and Walworth County Alternative High School students being impacted? 

REAL School, Lakeview High School and Walworth County Alternative High School instruction is determined by the local school district. Please monitor local school district websites for updates and information.

How are transcripted credit students being impacted?

Transcripted credit instruction is determined by the local area K-12 school district. Students should contact their district for information. ​

What about Gateway courses being taught at community locations?

Courses being taught at community locations such as Racine County Workforce Development Center and Racine Unified Pathway Campus may be impacted by facility closures. For information on other courses please contact your instructor or email cc@gtc.edu for information.

What about traffic safety courses?

All Traffic Safety, MultipleOffender, Group Dynamics, & Juvenile AODA classes with a class start date (first day of class) between March 14, 2020 and May 26, 2020 are cancelled. Classes that began before March 14, 2020 will resume on June 1, 2020 at their scheduled class meeting time and ate.  At this time, classes with a start date after June 1, 2020 on Monday-Thursday will be held as scheduled. Will Motorcycle Rider program still be offered?

All Motorcycle Rider courses originally scheduled between April 1, 2020 and August 30, 2020 have been cancelled.

Where can faculty and staff find information and resources for employees?

Gateway employee resources and information can be found by logging into the Gateway intranet using their employee credentials.
