Gateway provides meaningful access to college programs, services and activities for individuals who speak a language other than English, with a focus on Spanish as this is the most frequently spoken second language in our area. Here are some of the language access services and programs offered by Gateway.

  • Interpretation services are available in multiple languages at no cost to those seeking information or services from Gateway, including ASL.
  • Badge buddies that indicate second languages of Gateway employees and desk signs to easily identify those who speak Spanish.
  • Bilingual signage at campus locations most commonly used by Spanish speakers.
  • Telephone Language Interpretation Service available to our students and visitors.
  • Libguide on services for newcomers.

Filing a complaint

Individuals can file a complaint with the Office for Equal Opportunity and Civil Rights due to denial of meaningful access to Gateway’s programs, services, or activities.
