Gateway Technical College’s President and CEO Bryan Albrecht presented the college’s well-known boot camp and Gateway Promise programs at a White House Community College Convening event in Washington D.C. recently, showcasing the best practices from across America to strengthen community college access and success.

The event was hosted by Dr. Jill Biden and White House administrative officials.

National leaders invited Gateway to moderate a STEM discussion at an event in Washington DC.

Gateway innovation recognized nationally, again

Gateway Technical College’s commitment to, and nationwide recognition of, its innovative science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education was highlighted once again as college president and CEO Bryan Albrecht moderated discussion at a national conference in Washington D.C.

Albrecht moderated the “Cultivating College and Career Ready Graduates” roundtable discussion, a topic which is pivotal for our nation’s success, national leaders say. The roundtable was part of the larger STEMconnector Higher Education Council event “Scaling STEM Success: The Good News in STEM Education Summit.”

This summit encouraged dialogue action among STEM stakeholders across various sectors such as higher education, industry, government and nonprofit groups. These discussions have the purpose of implementing and promoting STEM best practices.

Exchange students from two countries visit Gateway

Students from Morocco and Germany recently visited Gateway as part of student exchange programs and ongoing partnerships with colleges in the two countries.

Students from the Morocco college Ecole Superieire de Technologie d’Oujda and German college Kaufmännische Schulen in Hanau, Germany, came to Gateway as part of the exchange program.

Students enrolled in the business, engineering and IT programs at the two colleges came to Gateway to experience the college and American culture. They toured several area businesses and took part in several college activities and even classes.

The German students attended Gateway’s board of trustees meeting in October, while Moroccan students attended Gateway’s board of trustees meeting in November, where they provided a glimpse into the Moroccan culture and their college.
