Students practice all clinical skills learned in the classroom in the student lab. The lab features the latest medical equipment including EKG machines, exam tables, sphygmomanometer, injection pads, venipuncture arms and a variety of other learning aids.
Once students have a clear understanding of the basic medical skills, they will continue to reinforce them by practicing on other students. Upon completion of the program’s core classes, students must complete a 160 hour practicum at a local clinical site.
Participation is the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) student organization is highly encouraged. AAMA’s mission is to provide medical assistants with further education, certification and networking opportunities. The AAMA also provides the exam for certification leading to the credential of Certified Medical Assistant.
