The Business Management program at Gateway offers opportunity for hands-on learning through case studies, professional internships and the Biz Squad program. In many cases, internships can be carried out with a student’s current employer - a great opportunity to learn and highlight your skills to your employer.
Biz Squad is a hands-on learning opportunity where students get to work with real world clients on actual projects, gaining experience in the field. Involvement also provides great networking opportunities. Biz Squad is offered at the Kenosha, Racine and Elkhorn Campuses.
Many Business Management courses are offered online to fit easily with busy schedules. Some classes may be offered in IPVID format, allowing students to attend a class at a different campus, through advanced telecommunication technology.
Gateway also offers hands-on learning and networking opportunities through involvement in professional organizations like Collegiate DECA, Business Professionals of America and community service organizations. Membership allows for involvement in local, state and international competitions. Service learning opportunities are also part of the program curriculum. Students will serve the community at area food shelters, animal sanctuaries, government agencies and non-profit organizations putting the skills they have learned into practice through service.
The Business Management program offers unique opportunities to study abroad. A recent trip included travel to Hong Kong and mainland China to study Asian marketing, human resources, supply chain management, import/export challenges, foreign currency exchange issues and cultural differences.
