There is a certain way people think of a four-year degree, which really isn’t true. You receive the same education at a technical college as you do at a four-year college. That was a big eye-opener for me.

Gateway helps grad meet three goals – and save $60,000

When Brian Beasely enrolled at Gateway, he had three goals: earn a Gateway degree, enter the workforce and earn a four-year degree.

Gateway helped him to obtain all three of those goals – and saved him about $60,000 in the process.

The Navy veteran enrolled at Gateway after serving in the military. He knew he wanted to earn a bachelor’s degree, he wanted the strong education, but also knew about the transfer agreement Gateway had with Carthage College.

From the beginning, he knew he would transfer to Carthage once he earned his Gateway degree.

“I wanted to focus on accounting at Gateway to make sure it was something I liked, and it was. I wanted to obtain a four-year degree from the beginning. I had it all mapped out.”

Brian says his education at Gateway was comparable to the education he received at Carthage.

“My first year at Carthage, I took a senior-level accounting course. I was nervous at first, and it was difficult, but I did just fine. I definitely received the fundamentals at Gateway, which helped me succeed.”

The Gateway graduate now works at an accounting solutions business.
