International Student Admissions Checklist

  1. Provide proof of English proficiency. (Click for TOEFL / IELTS information.)
  2. Application for admission, choosing from the list of eligible programs.
  3. International Student Processing Fee:  $75 to be paid prior to the start of classes.
  4. Complete the Gateway Technical College Application for Admission Packet for International Students. The Admission Packet for International Students includes:
    • Certification of Finances form. (This is to be accompanied by supporting financial documentation. You must be able to verify that you have the funds available to cover the total cost of a full academic year of education and other expenses while studying in the U.S. You may use the Cost of Attendance Worksheet to help you identify how you will pay for your education at Gateway).
    • International Student Emergency Contact form.
  5. Have an Official Credential Evaluation. More information is available on the Transcript Translation Services webpage.This report is required to verify completion of high school/secondary school or higher education completed outside of the U.S.
    • Please do not send transcripts directly to Gateway.
    • The official evaluation should be sent directly from the educational evaluation service to:

  6. Make copies of all the materials for your personal reference, and send all completed forms and supporting documents to:

  7. Once all documents are received, Gateway Technical College will issue you the I-20 form, and you will be notified.
  8. Make required payments to Gateway Technical College.
  9. Make an appointment with your embassy.
  10. If you are granted a visa to enter the United States and to study at Gateway Technical College, make travel arrangements to report to Gateway Technical College no later than a week before and no earlier than 30 days before the beginning date of classes to ensure you attend mandatory orientations.
