Somos Latinas - Voices of Latina Activists

Event Date:
Tuesday, March 26, 2019 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Discuss leadership and collaborative community building with Latina activists.

Somos Latinas co-author Eloisa Gómez, along with other activists, will highlight takeaways on Latina leadership and activism. Somos Latinas shares the powerful stories of 25 Latina activists that transformed communities throughout Wisconsin and cemented a long-standing legacy of activism from the 1960s to early 2000s. As part of Gateway’s GLOW Conference, co-author Eloisa Gómez, along with activists featured in the book, will discuss Latina leadership and activism. Enjoy refreshments and powerful conversation about strategizing and alliance building to further civic engagement and build community around a common purpose. The first 15 Gateway attendees will receive a free copy of Somos Latinas! All others can purchase a copy of the book from the co-author. Appetizers and refreshments will be served.

This is one of the events happening during the 2019 GLOW Student Leadership and Diversity Conference and Women's History Month.
