What is the definition of a student with a disability?
The term “disability” means a physical or mental recorded impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities of an individual.

Do I need to document my disability? 
Yes, disability documentation must be verified by one of Gateway’s Disability Support Service instructors in order to be eligible for the TAG program.

How much does the TAG program cost? 
Nothing! The TAG program is funded through the Department of Education.

What do I have to do? 
Once accepted, you must attend TAG meetings, student success seminars and other events. You will also meet with your TAG Support Specialist once a month.

How much of my time will it take every semester?
The time commitment largely depends on you. It may be a few hours each semester or a few hours each week. All we ask is that you take full advantage of the resources available to you.

How long will I be in the program? 
Typically, participants begin their first year at Gateway and remain in the program until they graduate. Students can remain in the program for up to four years.

How do I apply? 
To apply, you must be registered with the Disability Support Services department. To begin, please complete an online TAG Interest Form or contact one of the program specialists below.
