Carrie Szulczeusth and Clifford Stigail of Bridges Community Center talked to students during the Community Awareness Day event in April on the Racine Campus.

Members of the Gateway Human Services Club invited representatives from local agencies to the SC Johnson Student Life Center on the Racine Campus for Community Awareness Day on April 8. Offering everything from supportive services for veteran families to free legal advice, the representatives provided guests with valuable information and access to programs.

“We want to create an awareness of what types of services are available for students and others in our community,” said Laura Baron, treasurer of the Human Services Club.

“People forget things that are offered and right at their fingertips, especially in a time of crisis,” said Seth Wollwage, Human Services instructor, especially because students often must juggle college, work and caring for a family.
