Manicures were a big hit at Spa on Campus. Students got their nails done free of charge.
“With school, tests, clinicals and the semester coming to an end, this was something I really needed.” Those were the words of Carolina Padilla, a Nursing student who is finishing up her coursework in reference to the recent Spa on Campus.
Spa on Campus took place at the SC Johnson iMET Center, and on the Kenosha, Elkhorn and Racine campuses recently. The event was sponsored by United Student Government and the Student Life Department.
Padilla got a manicure and a massage on the Racine Campus.
“I came here because I needed to release tension,” she said. “I’m real happy Gateway provided this service for us because lots of students are stressed around this time.”
It was more than just a massage and manicure for Padilla, who said she learned to start doing periodic lunges to take the pressure off her lower back, which aches at times. Like many students, she carries a heavy backpack that could be related to lower back discomfort.
