Bookstore Refund Policy & Buyback

Bookstore Refund Policy

Textbooks may be returned for refund or exchange within seven (7) calendar days from the start of class, or within two (2) calendar days from the start of class for short term or interim classes, provided:

  • Books are in purchased condition; shrink wrapped materials and sealed disks or CD's must not be opened.
    • Original cash register receipt is required.

In addition, students may return their textbooks for refund or exchange upon dropping a course within thirty (30) days of the class start or until the end of the official add/drop period, whichever comes first, provided:

  • Proof of add/drop is available.
  • Books are in purchased condition; shrink wrapped materials and sealed disks or CD's must not be opened.
    • Original cash register receipt is required.

Books purchased during the last week of classes or during exams may not be returned. If your text is not refundable, it may be eligible for Buyback (see below).

All other store purchases may be returned for refund or exchange provided they are in purchased condition and with original cash register receipt. (Special orders may require payment at time of order and are not eligible for refund.)

Book Buyback

Follett’s bookstores buy back textbooks every day, although the best value is usually at the end of each semester. As much as 50 percent of the retail price is paid for books bought for the store to use in an upcoming semester. When campus need is met, the stores offer the prevailing national wholesale value. Factors that determine need include enrollment, store stock, and if a class is running. A student ID or government issued ID and proof of purchase or enrollment is required.
