COLA

About the program…

Gateway Technical College offers the Pierce-Branded Company Officer Leadership Academy (COLA) courses on Fridays and Saturdays.  The courses are geared towards company officers and firefighters who aspire to become great company officers.  Chief officers are also welcome to enroll in the program. 

Blue Card certification is a required part of the COLA program.  The Blue Card online course must be taken before enrolling in the Gateway Blue Card certification course.  The Blue Card online course has a separate fee.  Please refer to the registration information at http://www.bluecardcommand.com/buy-online-courses.html

Blue Card certification is also available for non-COLA participants

COLA Courses

Agency authorization form - to be completed by fire departments/municipalities sending personnel to training and wish to be invoiced rather than register online by credit card. Complete and email form to tilleye@gtc.edu

Program hours:

  • 64 hours COLA Certificate program
  • 24 hours Blue Card only

Cost:

  • $935 COLA Certificate plus Blue Card online course ($385)
  • $330 Blue Card only plus Blue Card online course ($385)

  • Jan. 12, 19 & 26 - Blue Card. 8am - 4pm. Located at the Eagle Fire Department.
  • Jan 18 & 25 - COLA Leadership 101. 8 am - 4pm. Located at the HERO Center, room 101.
  • Jan 19 & 26 - COLA Leadership 101. 8 am - 4pm. Located at the HERO Center, room 101.
  • Feb. 1, 8 & 15 - Leadership Simulations COLA. 8 am - 4pm. Located at the HERO Center, room 101.
  • Feb. 2, 9 & 16 - Leadership Simulations COLA. 8 am - 4pm. Located at the HERO Center, room 101.
  • Mar. 1, 8, & 15 - Blue Card. 8am - 4pm. Located at the HERO Center/Kansasville Fire Department.
  • Mar. 2, 9, & 16 - Blue Card. 8am - 4pm. Located at the HERO Center/Kansasville Fire Department.
