Gateway Technical College is an authorized training facility for BICSI telecommunication training. The BICSI ITS installation and training program is comprised of four levels, providing a career path for cabling installers:

  • BICSI ITS Installer 1 (IN101)
  • BICSI ITS Installer 2 (IN225)
  • BICSI ITS Installer 2 (IN250)
  • BICSI ITS Technician (TE350)

IN101: ITS Installer 1

IN101 is an intensive 5-day, 40-hour course designed to provide entry level ITS cabling installers with the background, knowledge and basic skills needed to function effectively on the job.  This course is geared toward those with little or no cabling installation experience.

Prerequisite: Minimum eighth-grade math and reading skills required; basic electricity and physics courses recommended.

Note: This course is recognized by the State of Wisconsin and earns 32 Continuing Education Credits (CECs) for Wisconsin Licensed Electricians.

IN225:  ITS Installer 2, Copper Training

Whether new installation or existing premise, BICSI’s ITS Installer 2, Copper Training course gives you a competitive distinction by allowing you to showcase your skills as a copper system specialist. IN225 is a five-day course that provides the foundations of a copper-based structured cabling system installation.

Prerequisite: The student must have at least one year of current and verifiable ITS industry installation experience.

Note: This course is recognized by the State of Wisconsin and earns 32 Continuing Education Credits (CECs) for Wisconsin Licensed Electricians.

IN250: ITS Installer 2, Fiber Training

IN250 is a 5-day course setting the groundwork for optical fiber-based structured cabling system installation. The course will open with an overview of fiber transmission principles, professionalism, life safety and industry best practices, as related to fiber.

Prerequisite: The student must have at least two years of current and verifiable ITS industry installation experience.

Note: This course is recognized by the State of Wisconsin and earns 32 Continuing Education Credits (CECs) for Wisconsin Licensed Electricians.

TE350:  ITS Technician

Take your installation performance to the next level through the study of specialized systems and advanced copper and optical fiber structured cabling systems. TE350 is an intensive 5-day course that provides the necessary skill set of a structured cabling systems technician. Who Should Attend: Highly experienced ITS cabling installers; individuals who hold the BICSI ITS Installer 2 or both the ITS Installer 2, Copper and ITS Installer 2, Optical Fiber credentials.

Prerequisite: The student must have at least three years of current and verifiable ITS industry installation experience.

Note: This course is recognized by the State of Wisconsin and earns 32 Continuing Education Credits (CECs) for Wisconsin Licensed Electricians.

Note: All BICSI classes are custom scheduled on an “as needed basis” to meet the needs of our customers. We can offer them in a M-F five day format with the written test on Saturday, in a one night a week, 10 week format with the written test in the 11th week, or any other format that work best for the customer.
