About the program...

The 911 Dispatcher/Telecommunications Officer Training includes training on the critical knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for success in passing the CritiCall® Assessment and becoming gainfully employed in the dispatch market.

The Criticall® Assessment is the national training curriculum from APCO-The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officers, and 911 training simulators from SAVE®. This program will provide hands-on learning for those seeking employment along with continuing professional education for incumbent workers.

How to Register for 911 Dispatch Training:

  1. View the orientation video below.
  2. Contact Kurt Lois at loisk@gtc.edu or 262-619-6474 to schedule the online CritiCall assessment. This assessment is mandatory before enrolling in this training. Assessments are offered at the Burlington, Elkhorn, Racine and Kenosha campuses. The fee for this assessment is $100 and is payable prior to taking the assessment. You will receive your test scores immediately, however the scores must be reviewed by Gateway to determine if you are eligible to register for 911 Dispatch Training. You will be notified regarding your eligibility to register for this training within 2 business days after taking the assessment.
