Petitioning Eligibility

All petitioning correspondence will be sent to your Gateway student email.

What Do I Need to be Eligible to Petition?

Once we receive your completed petition form, the Admissions Office will review your record for completion of the eligibility requirements for your program.

  • Students will be identified to participate in clinical/practicum courses based on completion of eligibility requirements, acceptance date, and residency status.
    • Read this information carefully!
    • We will let selected participants know if they need to update their CPR or Medic 1st Aid certifications, background information disclosure forms and/or background checks CPR, Medic 1st Aid, background checks, and Background Disclosure (BID) forms are valid for two years.

To have your petition considered, you must meet all of the requirements listed below for your program. If you have not met each item listed, your petition will not be considered for selection.

Completed or enrolled in Intro to Healthcare Computing 501-107, Computers for Professionals 103-143 or PC Basics 103-199 if accepted prior to the 2014/2015 academic year. Completed or enrolled in Computers for Professionals 103-143 or PC Basics 103-199 if accepted to the 2014/2015 academic year.

Completed or enrolled in Intro to Medical Language 501-102 or Medical Terminology 501-101.
