While Gateway Technical College accepts applications on an ongoing basis, we have priority admission dates prior to the start of each semester.

  • Summer Semester - Apply by January 1
  • Fall Semester – Apply by July 1
  • Spring Semester - Apply by October 1

Application Fee

The $30 application fee is a one-time fee to cover the cost of processing your application. The application fee includes one test session.

Official High School Transcript

*Means that applicants must have graduated from a recognized HS or earned an official GED or HSED.

Placement Testing
(Reading, Writing, Math, and Computer Skills)

Placement Testing includes a Reading, Writing, Math and basic computer skills assessment unless otherwise specified. We strongly urge applicants to review prior to taking COMPASS. Taking COMPASS more than once is only allowable under certain, limited conditions. Online review and sample questions are available at www.gtc.edu/testing.
