If you are interested in learning about a new language and culture the Silent Connection is for you. The Silent Connection brings the hearing and deaf cultures together in an effort to break down barriers, increase education and awareness, and eliminate fear. The group provides social and educational opportunities for members.
Each year the group hosts a Deaf Culture Day that is open to the public with vendors, events, and speakers celebrating deaf culture. Club members also attend the National Registry for Interpreters of the Deaf (R.I.D.) Convention each year. In addition, the club hosts meetings, speakers, and social events.
Interpreters are available at all club meetings and functions.
