Would like to communicate with people around the state and around the world? Be the voice of the community in an emergency? The Gateway Amateur Radio Club provides students with the opportunity. The club is a member of the American Radio Relay League and assists students in earning their amateur radio license.
Club members have the opportunity to communicate via ham radio as part of events and competitions from Gateway's radio tower at iMET. Each year the club also hosts a Field Day and participates in national emergency communications drills and would be able to assist the community in the event of an actual emergency if needed. If you are interested in hands on electronics experience or radio communication join the Amateur Radio Club (Ham Radio Call Sign N9GTC).
