Gateway is the first two-year interior design program in the state of Wisconsin to be approved to have a Student Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) (www.asid.org &www.asidwi.org).

ASID is the oldest and largest professional organization for interior designers. Along with the Gateway Student Chapter of ASID, the interior design club ( Iota Delta Kappa , or IDK) holds many activities of interest to students. Guest speakers, community service projects, social gatherings, and field trips are planned by these student-run organizations.

The Gateway Technical College Interior Design student organization hosts an annual Chair-ity Auction each Fall benefiting a local non-profit organization and Gateway Interior Design (ASID) student organization. Gateway Interior Design students rescue chairs, give them a fresh design and sell them to the highest bidder at this unique benefit event. The event features both a silent and live auction including home goods, gift certificates, and student designed chairs.
